Our Story
We met the modern way: a few messages, and 45 minutes later we were sitting across from each other at Fouquet’s in Tribeca for what was supposed to be one drink.
It turned into hours
The kind of conversation where you forget to check your phone and realize, halfway through, that something feels different (after precisely 57 minutes according to Max—he actually said that. About an hour into the date he looked at his watch and verbatim said “57 minutes in, this is going pretty well” and then proceeded to talk as if what he just said was perfectly normal first date commentary).
We are objectively opposites, but we are the same in every way that matters. Different rhythms, different personalities, different ways of moving through the world. But somehow, instead of clashing, it just clicked. Calm met intensity. Structure met chaos. It made sense after that night, we didn’t really master the “cool and casual” phase. We saw each other constantly.
There were cozy nights
At home eating ice cream straight from the pint. Long Sunday morning walks. There were concerts in San Francisco, spontaneous trips to Los Angeles. We learned quickly that we loved each other, the quiet and the big, loud joy of doing life. And it was even better side by side.
We have had a very busy year and can’t
wait to celebrate it and ever to come with you all in France!
